Glastonbury Festival
Pip has been a member of the Glastonbury Festival team for several decades, and it was at this iconic event that he first pioneered a radically unique experience at the age of just 25. Over the course of the following five years, Pip's creations drew crowds of up to 50,000 people per night.
Working with an ever-evolving team of young talented performers, technicians, and creators, Pip’s Glastonbury crew grew to 500 people per event, constructing, operating and performing the iconic 50-tonne robotic Spider show. The show, now known across the world, was made entirely from recycled military hardware, boasted unique special effects and aerial spectacles, and to date has hosted historic performances from the world's most renowned electronic music artists.
In 2019, Pip and his partner had recycled and erected a 150-tonne crane at the heart of the festival, forming the foundation of a new 360-degree aerial show that was set to be rolled out over five years of development. Extensive plans for this performance exist (see Future Vision page), but are yet to be realised.
